The Mysteries reunites Dan with his old Zaitsev partner, screenwriter Mark Farnsworth. 17 years since their last release, Check In The Corridors and The Repro for Cold Tap Recordings, The Mysteries is the first part of Zaitsev's planned fake soundtrack album of the same name. The Mysteries is a relentless down tempo nightmare, vocals that ooze menace and sonics that level buildings, inspired by the art of Robert Longo, PiL's The Order of Death and John Carpenter soundtracks, The Mysteries showcases Dan's darker side as a producer. The Mysteries has just featured on Bill Brewster's latest DJ History Podcast.

Zaitsev are Dan Beck & Mark Farnsworth who promoted clubs together in the 90s and formed the band in 2002. They occasionally release music together when they fancy it. Dan is also one half of Tone Dropout's He-Men and flies solo as Oki-Noki.
